The Township of Old Bridge in Middlesex County covers 38 miles and is centrally located between the Gateway Region—with its tourism, culture and other urban amenities—and the Jersey Shore. Access to the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike is just minutes away and the Township is served by two nearby railroad stations with train service to New York City, Newark, Philadelphia, Boston and Washington. Old Bridge Airport is located within the Township’s borders and Newark International Airport is thirty minutes away.

Old Bridge’s impressive Department of Parks & Recreation has made sure that its residents have plenty of open space and activities to enjoy year round. Offering everything from youth sports leagues to an ice arena, skate park and tennis courts, there really is something here for every type of sports enthusiast! One of the Township’s most popular destinations is Veteran’s Park, which is also home to its skate park facility. With thirty-three acres of open space, it offers two softball fields, one little league field, two basketball courts, tennis and handball courts, a children’s playground, a picnic area, soccer field and a walking trail.

Middlesex County picks up where Old Bridge leaves off and in addition to providing recreational activities and sports facilities, it also sponsors concert, theater, and art programs at various venues throughout the year. The Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in neighboring South Amboy, with a performance gazebo overlooking the Bay and a walkway around its perimeter, is not to be missed!

Are you a golfer? Then you’re in luck—the Middlesex County Improvement Authority operates three golfing facilities: The 36-hole, par 71 Tamarack Golf Course in East Brunswick, the 18-hole, par 70 Meadows at Middlesex Golf Course in Plainsboro, and the 18-hole, par 58 Raritan Landing Golf Course in Piscataway.

For the young at heart, the Old Bridge Senior Center offers a variety of activities and services including a regularly routed transportation service to take residents to and from local shopping and medical appointments. It also has a community garden and offers computer classes, regular outings and recreational activities such as billiards, line dancing, a walking club and bingo. For a nominal fee, residents can also partake in the Center’s daily senior meal program which provides a healthy lunch and a great opportunity to socialize.

For the college-bound, Old Bridge is northeast of Princeton University and south of Rutgers University’s New Brunswick Campus.
