Looking to live in an area of Central New Jersey that has it all? How about one located midway between New York City and Philadelphia that features many business, educational, recreational and shopping opportunities that are all easy to get to? The Township of Ewing, located in Mercer County, fits the bill! This suburban community, complete with rolling hills and open rural spaces, is bordered by our State Capital and the east bank of the Delaware River. Easily accessible to Interstates 95 & 295 and just fifteen minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike, Ewing is also home to the newly refurbished West Trenton Train Station as well as the Trenton-Mercer Airport.

If recreational activities are your passion, then you’re in luck! Ewing’s excellent park system provides acres and acres of open space and a multitude of activities including baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, indoor batting cages, t-ball, playgrounds, softball, picnic areas, walking, biking and hiking trails, boccie, a track, horseshoes…as well as community gardens and an outdoor stage. For you tennis buffs, Mercer County’s public indoor tennis center is located right in the heart of Ewing. And golfers, we haven’t forgotten about you—Mercer County’s Mountain View public golf course, also located right in Ewing, may very well become your second home. Need some golfing variety…? Mercer County’s other two public golf courses—Mercer Oaks and the Princeton Country Club—are just a stone’s throw away in West Windsor.

Other nearby recreational facilities include the Mercer County Equestrian Center located in Hopewell Township, the Mercer County Public Ice Skating Center in West Windsor—which offers an Olympic-sized rink, and a county-operated boat marina, located on the banks of Lake Mercer. For the young at heart, the Ewing Township Senior Citizen Dept. provides a plethora of activities and services, including a senior van service.

Are you a sports fan? Mercer County boasts a growing sports industry and just a short ride away along the Delaware River is Mercer County’s Waterfront Park which is home to the Trenton Thunder baseball team. Equally accessible is the Sovereign Bank Arena, home to the Trenton Titans hockey team. Of course, it’s not all sports at the Arena…as one of the premier facilities on the east coast, it also hosts major events and performances throughout the year.

Educational opportunities for adults and continuing education are practically right at your doorstep, too. Ewing Township is home to The College of New Jersey which has been recognized nationally for its excellence in U.S. News and World Report, The Fiske Guide to Colleges, Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges, and Peterson’s Competitive Colleges. Among the leading educational facilities in Mercer County are Rider University (Lawrenceville), Princeton University, Mercer County Community College and Thomas Edison State College (Trenton). For the younger set, in addition to Ewing Township’s public schools, preparatory schools include the nationally renown Lawrenceville School, the Hun School of Princeton and the Peddie School in Hightstown.
