The Borough of Hightstown, located just east of historic Princeton, is less than an hour from the Jersey Shore, New York City and Philadelphia. In addition to Princeton, Trenton and New Brunswick are close by and all offer a wide array of cultural, recreational, sporting and shopping activities. A stone’s throw away from the New Jersey Turnpike, Hightstown is the ideal place to call home if you want to be near everything without sacrificing the convenience and charm of the borough’s quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods. The Princeton Junction train station is just a 10 minute ride away and is easily accessible via shuttle bus which has service within walking distance of Wynbrook West. The Mercer County Airport is 25 minutes away; Newark Airport is 50 minutes away; and Philadelphia International Airport is about an hour away.

Hightstown boasts first-rate recreational facilities including beautiful parks, lakes, picnic areas, basketball courts, athletic fields, jogging paths and tennis courts. For you tennis players, Mercer County’s public tennis center is located in neighboring West Windsor. And golfers, we haven’t forgotten about you…Mercer County has a total of three 18-hole championship golf courses. About 15 miles away in Ewing Township is the Mountain View Golf Course with a par 72. Mercer County’s other two courses—Mercer Oaks, par 72 and the Princeton Country Club, par 70—are both about five minutes away in West Windsor.

Other nearby recreational facilities include the Mercer County Public Ice Skating Center in West Windsor—which offers an Olympic-sized rink, an Equestrian Center located in Hopewell Township, and a county-operated boat marina, located on the banks of Lake Mercer. For the young at heart, the East Windsor Senior Center is right around the corner and it provides a plethora of activities and services including regular outings and handicapped accessible transportation to shopping and medical appointments.

Are you a sports fan? Mercer County boasts a growing sports industry and just a short ride away along the Delaware River is Mercer County’s Waterfront Park which is home to one of the most successful AA baseball teams in the country, the Trenton Thunder. Equally accessible is the Sovereign Bank Arena, home to the Trenton Titans hockey team. Of course, it’s not all sports at the Arena…as one of the premier facilities on the east coast, it also hosts major events and performances throughout the year.

Educational opportunities for adults and continuing education are practically right at your doorstep, too. Among the leading educational facilities in Mercer County are the College of New Jersey (Ewing), Rider University (Lawrenceville), Princeton University, Mercer County Community College and Thomas Edison State College (Trenton). For the younger set, in addition to the East Windsor Regional School District, preparatory schools include the nationally renown Lawrenceville School, the Hun School of Princeton and the Peddie School which is located right in Hightstown.
