The Borough of Hightstown, located just east of historic Princeton,
is less than an hour from the Jersey Shore, New York City and Philadelphia.
In addition to Princeton, Trenton and New Brunswick are close by and all
offer a wide array of cultural, recreational, sporting and shopping activities.
A stones throw away from the New Jersey Turnpike, Hightstown is
the ideal place to call home if you want to be near everything without
sacrificing the convenience and charm of the boroughs quiet, tree-lined
neighborhoods. The Princeton Junction train station is just a 10 minute
ride away and is easily accessible via shuttle bus which has service within
walking distance of Wynbrook West. The Mercer County Airport is 25 minutes
away; Newark Airport is 50 minutes away; and Philadelphia International
Airport is about an hour away.
Hightstown boasts first-rate recreational facilities including beautiful
parks, lakes, picnic areas, basketball courts, athletic fields, jogging
paths and tennis courts. For you tennis players, Mercer Countys
public tennis center is located in neighboring West Windsor. And golfers,
we havent forgotten about you
Mercer County has a total of
three 18-hole championship golf courses. About 15 miles away in Ewing
Township is the Mountain View Golf Course with a par 72. Mercer Countys
other two coursesMercer Oaks, par 72 and the Princeton Country
Club, par 70are both about five minutes away in West Windsor.
Other nearby recreational facilities include the Mercer County Public
Ice Skating Center in West Windsorwhich offers an Olympic-sized
rink, an Equestrian Center located in Hopewell Township, and a county-operated
boat marina, located on the banks of Lake Mercer. For the young at heart,
the East Windsor Senior Center is right around the corner and it provides
a plethora of activities and services including regular outings and
handicapped accessible transportation to shopping and medical appointments.
Are you a sports fan? Mercer County boasts a growing sports industry
and just a short ride away along the Delaware River is Mercer Countys
Waterfront Park which is home to one of the most successful AA baseball
teams in the country, the Trenton Thunder. Equally accessible is the
Sovereign Bank Arena, home to the Trenton Titans hockey team. Of course,
its not all sports at the Arena
as one of the premier facilities
on the east coast, it also hosts major events and performances throughout
the year.
Educational opportunities for adults and continuing education are
practically right at your doorstep, too. Among the leading educational
facilities in Mercer County are the College of New Jersey (Ewing), Rider
University (Lawrenceville), Princeton University, Mercer County Community
College and Thomas Edison State College (Trenton). For the younger set,
in addition to the East Windsor Regional School District, preparatory
schools include the nationally renown Lawrenceville School, the Hun
School of Princeton and the Peddie School which is located right in
Hightstown.
